 極真空手は創始者大山倍達が1964年、東京都池袋にて興した空手団体。正式名称は【国際空手道連盟極真会館】全世界に累計会員数1,200万人を誇る。単一組としては世界最大の空手団体です。　
4年に1度開催される全世界空手道選手権大会を組織活動の中心として、全世界に活動の場を広げています。
Kyokushin Karate is a karate organization founded by Mas Oyama in Ikebukuro, Tokyo in 1964. Its official name is the International Karate-D Federation, which boasts a total of 12 million members. It is the largest single karate organization in the world.The organization is expanding its activities around the world, with the World Karate Championships held every four years as the center of its activities.

 大山倍達は大変な哲学者・思想家でもあり、空手の技術的な紹介を軸として、修練の先に世界平和を実現するという極真空手の思想を説いた『this is KARATE』及び『What is KARATE』は世界的なベストセラーとなる。
 2024年に団体創立60周年を迎え、新たに団体活動目的を『最強求道の志』『相互互恵の志』『永続繁栄の志』と定め、老若男女問わず極真空手の魅力、素晴らしさを世界中の皆様に向けて伝えています。
Mas Oyama was also a great philosopher and thinker, and his books "This is KARATE" and "What is KARATE", which focused on introducing the techniques of karate and preached the idea of karate as a path to world peace beyond training, became international bestsellers. In 2024, we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the group, and we will newly define our group activities as "The will to seek the strongest path," "The will to mutually benefit," and "The will to perpetuate." We are spreading the charm and greatness of Kyokushin Karate to people all over the world, regardless of age or gender.
